 PILOT SERVICES

Crew Members: You may request up to 2 crew members with your paid entry.

Fuel: As a paid entry and pilot in the Bluegrass Balloon Festival we provide propane for all events as part of your entry fee. The propoane is provided from Ferrell Gas.

Hotel: Piilots located more than 50 miles from Bowman Field qualify for a free hotel room for Thursday, Friday and Saturday night. On your entry form choose your preference of room. (Click here for Hotel Info)

Prize Money: Bluegrass Balloon Festival continue to offer high cash payouts and fun events. For 2007, compete for up $40,000 in cash prizes. If for any reason an event is cancelled due to weather, we will pay out 50% to all pilots who show up to all roll calls.

Awards Diner: Each balloon entry receives 5 dinner tickets (1 Pilot, 4 Crew) for the Awards Dinner. The awards dinner will be held Saturday, September 29th at 4:00 pm in the Hospitality tent at Bowman Field.

Trophy: Each 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner will receive a trophy.

Balloon Glows: Participation is required in the balloon glow to earn full eligibilty for prize money. Sport pilots glow only one night.

Balloon Size: Size A6 balloons and larger may enter if you are capable of carrying 1 crew member or passenger. All Sport entries must carry a passenger.

Corporate Baloons: Size rules do not apply to corporate balloons. These balloons are not required to take crew members or passengers; however, crew member rides might be available to pilots on the field. If you take a crew member in your balloon, regardless of your type of entry, you must be able to carry this/these crew member(s) within the standards.
